A Sweet Time

Today's story isn't really funny but sweet. Today, we had indoor recess because it was cold outside. The children were playing "hot potato." I put music on and when the music stops whoever has "it" is out. They like that game! Well after we played the game, I had the kids sit on the floor facing me. I wanted to have a quick sing along. I put the Patch the Pirate cd on. We listened to "I've Got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy Down in my Heart." The cd uses funny voices and several verses. So, we sang along. It was so sweet to look at my "kids" singing "I have the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy Down in my Heart" with smiles on their faces. Then, I remembered learning the first verse in the Indonesian language many years ago (thanks to Mrs. Quinlan). I was able to teach them that. They thought that was cool! So, we sang the first verse in English then in the Indonesian language. It was very sweet! There was one time I looked at my kids and one of the boys had his back towards me and was "directing" the kids as if he was directing a choir. It was cute and funny!
It was such a sweet time we had together. I wanted to share it. So, it is not "Out of the Mouth of Babes", but it is something "babes" do. Precious!

  1. Awww...! How neat you still remember the words to "Ada Sukacita di Hatiku"!
I'm enjoying reading the many shares of what comes "out of the mouth of babes"!

  2. Thanks for reading, Mrs. Q! I appreciate it. Thanks for teaching me that song several years ago. The children really enjoy it! I love listening to them sing it.
